Dr Emma Tay is a dually qualified Specialist Physician in Clinical Pharmacology and Addiction Medicine. She completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Subsequently, she undertook her specialist training in Clinical Pharmacology and Addiction Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, Liverpool Hospital and Western Sydney Local Health District.


Dr Tay's clinical interests are polypharmacy, quality use of medicines, drug interactions, substance use disorders, and drug testing. She is passionate about promoting safe and quality use of medicines to ensure patient safety and quality clinical care. Dr Tay participated in the hospital Medication Safety Committee and Drug and Therapeutics Committees, contributing to various policies and clinical guidelines development. 

As a clinician-researcher, Dr Tay regularly presents at international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Through her current PhD research candidate work at Sydney University, she evaluates a new digital health tool to promote the safe use of high-risk medicine and regulation.
